News from the Guidance Department:.

 

  • The Course Fair is tomorrow in Edgewood! You’ll go through your science classes and get an early look at classes and organizations you might be interested in for the upcoming year. Don’t miss out on your chance to figure out what kind of schedule you want in the future! Parents can attend the Course Fair tonight from 5- 5:30 in the Edgewood building.

Sports News: 

 

  • Our Soccer programs have officially wrapped up the regular seasons. We now await playoff brackets to be released to see our first round matchups! 

  • Big district implications for our basketball programs this week. The Basketball team has a game at Ouachita tonight. Girls start at 4:30, and the boys will follow. They also play Friday at home vs Pineville.

  • Coming up this week, the baseball and softball teams start off their seasons.Both teams have brand new fields to play on, so come out to enjoy the games and check out the new area. For Baseball, there’s a Freshman and JV scrimmage Thursday at home vs Ruston starting at 4:30. Saturday, Softball will be at Airline while Baseball plays Byrd at home.

Club and Organization News:

  • Junior Civitans will have a meeting this afternoon in Mrs. Beach's room (6206). 

  • FCS meets in the morning at 7:15 in the new gym.

  • The West Monroe High School Band is pleased to host The United States Navy Band on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 7PM in the West Monroe High School Auditorium as part of their national tour. This is one of the world's finest bands and is always a stunning and enjoyable concert! Tickets are free but required. Check with Mr. Freeman for ticket information

  • The link to tickets for the Valentine’s Dance has officially gone live. Tickets are $10. The first 50 students to purchase tickets will receive a prize in their homeroom so go ahead and buy your tickets today. Students should use their Student ID # to purchase tickets. Outsiders must be approved through email to Mrs. Knox. Email her your date’s ID picture and the school they attend. knox@opsb.net

  • If you are interested in working backstage on this year's spring musical, The Little Mermaid, applications are available outside the choir room. Please pick up an application, follow the instructions and return the application by the deadline. Selected applicants will be notified once all teacher recommendations are complete. Should be within a few weeks.
